The Ukrainian airline SkyUp operates direct flights from Kiev to the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania, so getting to Zanzibar is not as difficult as it might seem. According to the schedule, flights are currently operated twice a week – on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and from January to the end of February – four times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday).
Zanzibar: conditions of entry?
To enter Tanzania, Ukrainians need a visa, which can be issued upon entry at the international airports of Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam, or at the Namanga border crossing between Tanzania and Kenya, or online.
With such a visa, Ukrainians can stay in Tanzania for up to 90 days.
Security in Zanzibar
Today, Zanzibar is a civilized and peaceful place. Modern hotels, cafes and restaurants, a wide range of entertainment options combined with the amazing nature, warm ocean and good-natured local population make the island a safe place to stay. But some rules are still better to follow. So, in Zanzibar, never give money for a product or service in advance, do not walk alone at night, do not shine a large sum of money in front of strangers and do not hail a taxi with your hand.
As for health: when swimming in the ocean, be on your guard, because there is always a risk of encountering sea urchins; during the rainy season and off—season, the likelihood of being bitten by malaria mosquitoes increases – take high-quality repellents and preventive measures in the first-aid kit. Do not be afraid of venomous snakes and other reptiles – yes, they are on the island, but they live in the jungle, where people rarely enter.
