A residential tower absorbing carbon dioxide has been built in Taiwan

The French architectural firm Vincent Callebaut Architectures has become famous for the eco-friendly design of its projects, and the team itself is often referred to as “eco-friendly architects”.

In 2010, a Parisian company managed to win a competition for the construction of a residential tower in the Taiwanese capital, Taipei, with an environmentally friendly system providing all the resources necessary for a comfortable stay. An ambitious project has found a place in the Xinjin area.

In recent photos of the tower called Tao Zhu Yin Yuan Tower, you can see that the construction process is already in the last stages, and it is also safe to say that the “ecological” company has justified its name. The entire “twisted” tower – from the base to the topmost balconies – is completely dotted with greenery.

However, this stunning landscaping project, which was developed by SWA, has not only an external aesthetic purpose. A total of 23,000 trees have been planted on the floors and plot, which will absorb up to 120 tons of carbon annually. Even the actual process of building the tower took place under the auspices of the word “eco”: this means that everyone involved in the creation of the project – the company, the client, and all managers – had to carefully develop a construction plan, the negative environmental impact of which would be much lower than in any other large-scale construction.

If we talk about the “highlight” of the building – the bend, then the Parisian developer company carefully studied the nearby territory and made a rather spectacular move by “twisting” the tower. This appearance not only looks impressive, but also allows you to open the view from the windows and balconies of the building to the sights located in the area. Residents of the tower in their apartments have an excellent view of the main business district of the capital, and above all of the Taipei 101 skyscraper, formerly called the World Financial Center.

Impressive views open not only from inside the tower, but also on it. The spirally twisted building appears in a new and interesting appearance every time, no matter what angle you look at it. The variety of silhouettes can be seen in the photos below. From some angles, the building looks like a rounded pyramid, while others clearly emphasize the bend, and the tower seems to move away from the viewer. It is already safe to say that such a dynamic, multifaceted and innovative building will certainly become another Taipei landmark.
